ModCheck is an independent project-verification guide.
We created this site because the Verity search results mix a fictional video character with multiple fan-made projects, platforms, versions, and reposted links. Our goal is to help a player take the next correct step—not to impersonate a creator or distribute files.
Editorial policy
- We link to identifiable public project listings rather than hosting mod files.
- We label separate same-name projects as separate projects.
- We show a reviewed date and update claims when source listings materially change.
- We do not ask visitors to upload files or provide API keys.
- We clearly state non-affiliation with Mojang, Microsoft, ThatMob, CurseForge, and project creators.
Corrections
If a listed project, version, or source page is wrong or outdated, contact the site operator with the project URL and evidence from the publisher’s public listing.
Update standard
What must change when a source listing changes
A source guide becomes stale quickly when a project updates. For every recorded project, review the author, project ID, latest release, supported game version, required loader or experiments, and setup notes. Update the reviewed date only after those fields have been checked.
What ModCheck will not claim
- That a community release is risk-free or will work on every device.
- That a popular download count proves a file is right for the visitor.
- That every same-name project is an official adaptation.
- That a URL-only check is an antivirus scan.
How a correction should be handled
Keep the source URL, the observed date, the claimed correction, and a link to the maintainer’s public evidence. Correct the affected page and add an entry to a visible update log; do not silently rewrite a version claim.
